Mrs. Sharon VanOrd
Mrs. VanOrd has been the Director and a Lead Teacher since establishing Creative Discovery in October 2005. Her backgound is extensive. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development and Teaching from Michigan State University in 1984. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Education from the University of Michigan in 1989. She is certified to teach children from 2 weeks of age through 8th Grade. Professional experiences include teaching Pre-Kindergarten, Gifted Kindergarten, Gifted First Grade, and Second Grade. Her specialty is developmental teaching, especially young children ages 2½ - 6 years. She has recently become certified in MLPP (Michigan Literacy), L.E.T.R.S. (Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading & Spelling), and PLaY (Playful Literacy and You). In the summer of 2006 she acquired training in the Zoo-Phonics program which she implemented at the Center in September 2006. Sharon is also a member of the NAEYC (National Association for the Enducation of Young Children).
Mrs. VanOrd is also involved in the community. Sharon is the PTO President at Three Fires Middle School 2007-2010 school year. She has been a Girl Scout leader for several years and this year she serves as a Troop Service Director. She is a leader in community fund raisers — MD, Diabetes, Library, and others. In addition, Creative Discovery is a member of the Howell Chamber of Commerce and is proud to be a Girl Scout Troop sponsor.
Mrs. VanOrd lives in Howell with her husband and two children.

Michelle joined our staff as a ParaProfessional in November 2007.

Melissa joined our staff as a ParaProfessional in May 2008.

Mrs. Barb Segety
Barb joined our staff as a ParaProfessional in January 2010.
Mrs. Segety resides in Howell with her family.
Mrs. Darcy Leyder
Mrs. Leyder has been with us for several months. She works in an "as needed" capacity helping us stay organized and fills in for the teaching staff from time to time.
Mrs. Leyder resides in Howell with her husband and children.
