Programs

Creative Discovery has programs available for children aged 2½ to 12 years.  They have been developed in support of the theory that Early Childhood Learning is essential to the well being of a child's educational base.  To that end our programs are designed to provide educational opportunities to all of our children regardless of age.  Also, our programs support the contemporary view of Literacy and its impact on the child.  We focus heavily on all aspects of literacy.

Literacy

Traditionally, Literacy has been defined to mean the ability to read and write. In today's world, Literacy also encompasses speaking, comprehension, and understanding.  In the world of education today, literacy is becoming more and more important.  Educators are becoming more aware of the need for literacy programs in the schools and are therefore working towards creating programs to promote literacy in and outside of the schools.

Early Childhood Learning

Modern research shows that the first five years of a child's life is immensely important in determining a child's future success in Literacy — speaking, reading, writing, and representational pictures (understanding).

Studies have shown that the more we as teachers expose our children to constructive activities, the more stimulated is the brain and therefore is the more developed in terms of neurological connections and other physiological elements, yielding greater success in learning literacy and academics.

Creative Discovery uses play, supported by a rich oral language base, as a technique to exercise the child's thinking process and teach literacy skills.
